PhD Lunch Talk - Authentic Japanese Tea Ceremony by The Urasenke Chado Tradition(11/04/2016)
This seminar is for international researchers (DC, PD).
Tea ceremony will be conducted in Japanese with English translation.
Come and join the I-HoP’s new program for international DC and PD researchers, PhD Lunch Talk. We will invite guest speakers from industry, academia, government or other organizations to discuss about their career, life, or special topics which may be stimulus for international PhD researchers in Japan. Registration is required because we will provide lunch for all the attendees.
On this special occasion, you can watch and experience
Japanese Tea Ceremony (Chado : the Way of Tea).
I-HoP is excited to introduce the authentic Japanese tea ceremony to our international doctorates and postdocs. Despite having the tile of Lunch Talk, the main part of the event is wordless because you will quietly observe a performance of tea serving by the master. You will be served with Japanese traditional confections, Usucha (green tea) and Kaiseki Bento (a specially-made lunchbox).
Seats are limited, so please register early!

PhD Lunch Talk～特別編～裏千家茶道にふれる
外国人研究者(DC, PD)向けのセミナーです。
茶事は日本語にておこなわれますが、同時に英語での説明もございます。
海外からの博士課程学生、ポスドクのみなさんのための新しいセミナーシリーズ「PhD Lunch Talk」では、企業や政府、各種団体などからのゲストをお招きし、キャリアやライフストーリー、その他いろいろな、日本に暮らす海外からの研究者にとって刺激になるようなお話しをしていただきます。簡単な昼食を提供しますので、必ず登録のうえ参加ください。
今回は特別編として茶道を体験していただきます。
日本の伝統文化、茶道。その代表的流派である裏千家の先生をお招きし、椅子とテーブルにていただく”立礼式”お茶会をひらきます。おごそかにお茶が点てられる様子を拝見し、生菓子と薄茶をいただきます。また、見た目も美しい懐石弁当もお召し上がりいただけます。席に限りがありますので、お早めにお申し込みください。
